Ash-Ki or Ashite Brotherhood
Installation Ritual

1918

On a Wednesday night at the end of each year following the date of foundation, an election shall be held in all Cassas and new officers or bosses shall be elected to part or all of the stations, or part or all of the incumbents shall be re-elected.
On installation night, after vital "new business" has been transacted, a previously elected Installation Officer shall approach the Asharah from opposite the Grand Rostrum and address the Master of the Ash across the Altar in a loud voice.
Installation Boss:
Master of the Ash,I am here to install the Bosses of this Cassa. Have they all been legally elected according to your by-laws?
The Master of the Ash answers.
Installation Boss:
Have the reports to your next superior Cassa been made and is all tax paid to said Grand Cassa for the past fiscal year?
The Master of the Ash answers.
Installation Boss:
If the yearly revenue has not been paid the installation can not proceed until a warrant has been been drawn for the same, neither can the new pass words be issued.
If the law is complied with, the installing Boss advances to the Grand Rostrum, and the Master of the Ash hands him his Ash Stick, and takes a seat on his left.
Installing Officer of the Ash:
Bosses of the Ash, remove your regalia, vacate your respective stations, and take a seat among the members in ordinary. Active Grand Bosses of the Ash, calling each by his title or name, assume the vacant stations nominal with your past titles. Grand Recorder of the Ash, please call the roll of officers-elect.
Bosses-elect, so-called will take their places in rank before the Rostrum with the Master of the Ash at their head, Master of the Ash-elect, please name your appointive Bosses and rank them behind your line.
The Installing Boss now addressing the double line says:
Brothers of the Ash, you were elected by the members to fill the offices of this Cassa No. … of the Ashite Brotherhood, and guard the trail to Ashgard for the ensuing year. So conduct yourselves that your Brothers have no cause to question their choice.
Grand Guide of the Ash, conduct the officers-elect to the Asharah and form a circle around the Altair with the Master Elect next to the Grand Rostrum and the others in order of precedence.
The Grand Guide of the Ash says:
Grand Chaplain of the Ash, I present these Bosses-elect that you may administer to them the oath of office.
The Grand Chaplain of the Ash:
Brothers, place your right hand over your hearts, and extend your left hands toward the Asharah.
The Installing Officer gives two raps and the Brothers all rise.
Grand Ashite Chaplain:
Brothers, repeat after me, using your names and offices where I use mine, in concert:
I, …, being elected to the office of …, do solemnly affirm and swear to faithfully and fairly perform the duties of my office for the ensuing year, and to turn over to my successor at the expiration of that period, all moneys, properties, and documents belonging in any measure to the Ashite Brotherhood, so help me God.
Members all shout:
Zi-ash, or amen, and wake up snakes and crawl.
Installing Officer gives three raps and says:
Members please be seated. Then adds: Grand Ashite Guide conduct the officers-elect to the middle of the Arena and stand them in the form of the Swastika or Ashika or Venus, the ancient symbols of the Ashites.
Grand Guide of the Ash:
Installing Boss of the Ash, the Bosses-elect have pledged themselves to promote the best interests of the Cassa during the ensuing year and await the task.
Installing Boss rises and says:
Retiring Past Master of the Ash, I congratulate you on last year's work. Your labor is not finished, however, as the Cassa still needs your advice and help constantly along the trail to Ashgard. The Grand Ashite Guide will now conduct you to your station, that of Acting Grand Master of the Ash.
The Bosses-elect are now all installed in their stations in regular order, and each rises to his feet when he is addressed by the Installation Officer.
Installation Officer:
Master of the Ash, you have been chosen by your Brothers to fill the highest office in the Cassa.
It is your duty to so conduct yourself that the example will be of far reaching value to the Brotherhood and exercise yourself that no unworthy Utlander passes the Midgard Trail over Mount Asharvan to Ashgard. Please be seated on my right.
Vice Master of the Ash, it is your duty to supervise and watch the trail leading to the Cassa. Keep order along it. Aid the Master and see that no Jew or other non-Aryan Utlander approaches the sacred precincts of the Cassa. The Grand Guide of the Ash will now conduct you to your station.
Chaplain of the Ash, in this great world, which was bequeathed to our ancestors and their earth-born companions millions of years ago. Wickedness seems to prevail with the good. Hence it is always well to have on among us, who remembers the lessons taught by a loving mother, to invoke the transcendent shades of the green groves of Ashgard, and help keep the majestic Ash ever blooming over the embrossial fountain of eternal youth and the rejuvenating spirits of our immortal ancestors. The Grand Guide of the Ash will please conduct you to your divine station.
Recorder of the Ash, your office is a sacred trust, for upon you devolves the duty of recording the deed and the acts of the living Ashites during the ensuing year and all you can learn of all that have died down through the centuries of existence. The Grand Guide of the Ash may conduct you to your station.
Keeper of Relics and Treasures of the Ash, the entire wealth of the Cassa. is given in your keeping, and it depends on you to collect the relics of the Ashites that are dead and relieve the distress of those that are living. The Grand Guide of the Ash will lead you to your station.
Alchemist and Distiller of the Ash! Moonshiner, it devolves upon you to refresh the weary Utlander upon his dangerous way seeking Ashgard. Observe that they practice extreme temperance in and around the Cassa. But always keep your distillery running within the pale of the law. Picture to the thirsty and way-worn Utlanders, contraveners of the sacred embrossia on tall, desert mountains, looking down into the green valleys of Ashgard where rivers of mountain dew flow into lakes of moonshine, the pebbles along the enchanting
shores of which are precious stones and nuggets of gold, over which Ashite men of immortal youth sport with maidens unadorned and forever young. Advise the seeking Utlanders that it is a sacred duty they owe themselves and one they owe all other Utlander within the pale to be temperate and righteous and gain this Paradise where contraveners can not come and magic distilleries run forever, pouring streams of embrossia into the fountain of immortal youth. The Grand Guide of the Ash will escort you to your distillery.
Trustees of the Cassa you have assumed the duty of keeping the Cassa on a safeguard sound working and financial basis. Exercise all possible care and forethought and win the praise of your brothers. Please be seated among the members.
Trail Guide of the Ash, it is your duty to see that all weary Utlanders seeking Ashgard are refreshed with embrossia, shod and clad with the proper clothing, given whiskers and guided on their way over the Mitgard Mountain. The Grand Guide of the Ash will conduct you to your seat by the Grand Rostrum.
Trail Blazer of the Ash, it devolves upon you to serve as lieutenant and scout of the Trail Guide on the dangerous journeys to Ashgard with Utlanders. It is your duty to command the guard and get all in readiness for the pilgrimages. The Grand Guide of the Ash will take you to your station.
Keepers of the Inner and Outer Gates of the Cassa, it is your duty to allow no one to enter the Cassa not properly garbed and in possession of the pass words and grip. The Grand Guide of the Ash will conduct you to your stations.
Master of the Ash, I now relinquish the Ash Stick to you and declare by the power vested in me as your Installation Officer, Cassa No. …, of the Ashite Brotherhood, legally installed.
