Ritual for the Installation of Officers

 
1917

This is the installation of officers, and is conducted by any State officer or Deputy, unless otherwise provided:
Section 1.: H. P.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected to the office of H. P. of this Castle, with the confidence and trust this Castle has in you. I now empower you with the jewel of this Order, which is the gavel. See that you keep your passions in due bounds with all mankind.
Section 2.: V. H. P.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected to the office of V.H. P. of this Castle. It is your duty to preside in the absence of the H. P. With the confidence and trust this Castle has in you, I now present to you the gavel, which is the jewel of this Order.
Section 3.: H. Scribe.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected to the office of High Scribe of this Castle. With the confidence this Castle has as to your qualifications, I now present you with an emblem of the Order, which is the Book. Your duty is to record everything pertaining to the Order.
Section 4.: A. H. S.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected A. H. Scribe of this Castle. It is your duty to assist the H. S. of this Castle to keep the records. With the confidence and trust the Castle has in you, I present you with an emblem of the Order, which is the Book.
Section 5.: H. T.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected to the office of High Treasurer of this Castle, with the confidence they have in your honesty, to fill the same. I hope that you will not deceive your brothers or sisters. I now present you with an emblem, which is the Key of the Order. Your duties are to receive all moneys belonging to the Order, but not to pay or settle any debts without a written order from the H. P., countersigned by the H. S. and three-fourths of the members being present or notified.
Section 6.: H. C.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected High Chaplain of this Castle, according to your religious qualifications. I now present you with the Holy Bible, one of the emblems of the Order. Your duty is to pray in opening and closing the Castle.
Section 7.: H. M.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected High Marshal of this Castle. With the trust and hope of your being qualified to fill the same, I now present you with an emblem of the Order, which is the Staff. Your duty is to care for all jewels and implements of the Order, see that none is lost; also to command in all processions, and keep an eye to the neatness and dress of the members.
Section 8.: H. S. W.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected High Senior Warden of this Castle. With the confidence this Castle has in your ability to fill the same, I now present you with a Staff, one of the emblems of the Order. You are to protect the H. P. 'and assist in opening and closing the Castle.
Section 9.: H. J. W.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected High Junior Warden of this Castle. With the honor the Castle bestows upon you, I now present you with a Staff, an emblem of the Order. Your duty is to assist in opening and closing the Castle.
Section 10.: H. I. G.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected High Inner Guard: It is your duty to guard the inner door, permit no one to pass in without the password. I now present you with the badge of your office.
Section 11.: H. O. G.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected High Outer Guard. Your duty is to guard the outer door, allow no one to pass in without the password. I now present you with the badge of your office.
Section·12.: H. P.: Sister (or Brother), you have been elected High Porter of this Castle. It is your duty to arrange the candidate for initiation. I now present you with the badge of your office.
